CTO-level guidance without the full-time hire.

Strategic technology leadership for SaaS companies that need architecture direction, team mentoring, vendor evaluation, and board-ready reporting. Engagement-based, scoped to your needs.

We work alongside your founders and engineers. You get the strategic layer you need without the overhead of a full-time executive.

What you get

Technology Strategy

Technology roadmap aligned to your business goals. Priorities set, trade-offs understood, and direction clear before the next sprint starts.

Architecture Direction

System design decisions reviewed and documented. Scalability, security, and operational concerns addressed before they become incidents.

Team Mentoring

Engineers and tech leads coached on architecture, communication, and delivery. Grow your team's capability through the engagement, not just the output.

Vendor and Tool Evaluation

Third-party platforms, SaaS tools, and cloud services assessed against your requirements. Unbiased recommendations, not vendor-aligned.

Board Reporting

Technology translated for boards and investors. Risk, progress, and roadmap communicated clearly without jargon or ambiguity.

Operational Playbooks

Incident response, on-call processes, change management, and engineering standards documented so they survive team turnover.

Engagement-based. Fixed scope. Your team owns the output.

Decisions actioned. Architecture records written, team coached, playbooks drafted, hiring support provided.

Enable

Knowledge transferred. Your team runs independently. Clear path forward whether you continue, pause, or hire a full-time CTO.

Fractional CTO FAQ

What does a fractional CTO do?

A fractional CTO provides CTO-level strategic leadership on a part-time or engagement basis. We set technology direction, guide architecture decisions, mentor your team, and represent technology to your board and investors, without occupying a full-time seat.

How much time do you commit?

That depends on the engagement scope. A discovery and roadmap engagement is typically two to four weeks of focused work. Ongoing advisory arrangements are structured around a defined number of days per month, agreed upfront.

Do you replace our tech lead?

No. We work alongside your tech lead or senior engineers. The goal is to give your team a strategic layer and a sounding board, not to take over delivery. Most teams find their existing leads perform better with this kind of support.

How long do engagements run?

Engagements are scoped, not open-ended. A first engagement might be four to eight weeks. Some clients continue with ongoing advisory sessions after that. We do not lock you into long contracts.

Can you help us hire a full-time CTO?

Yes. We can help define the role, assess candidates, and run the technical interview process. We have helped several SaaS companies hire their first full-time CTO after working with us as a fractional arrangement.

What industries do you work with?

Primarily SaaS companies on AWS, across verticals including fintech, healthtech, proptech, and marketplace software. The common thread is a product-led business that needs technology leadership to scale safely.
